Charlotte Jane Axton Burgan, 88, of Forward Township, died Sunday, June 23, 2024, knowing she was completely loved by her Lord and her family. She was born December 3, 1935, in Donora, the daughter of Edmond and Mildred Axton. Charlotte was a 1952 graduate of Donora High School. She met the love of her life, Joseph Burgan Sr., roller skating in Monessen at the Piggly Wiggly. They married in 1954 and celebrated 56 wonderful years, until his passing in 2011. Her love and passion were her family, being Mom, Grammy, and great-Grammy, and helping many find and grow in a relationship with the one who loved them the most, Jesus. She served as Sunday school superintendent, teacher, Pastor’s wife, and church secretary. She served in a ministerial capacity at the Elizabeth Baptist Church, Higher Ground Full Gospel in Elizabeth Township, and The Christian Center Church in Rostraver Township. She loved hosting people in her home and baking; the smell of homemade bread, buns, and pies filled the air, and no one ever left hungry. She is survived by her sons, Joe (Erica) Burgan, traveling the country, Pastor Tim (Paige) Burgan of North Huntingdon, PA, and daughter JoyLyn Lowden (Burgan) of West Newton, PA, her grandchildren Cody Burgan of Phoenix, AZ, Alissa (Anthony Cleveland) Burgan of Memphis, TN, Amanda Burgan of Greensburg, PA, Christopher (Rachel) Burgan of Uniontown, PA, Christa (Jeff) Dietz of Elsmere, KY, Ben (Brittany) Lowden of Belle Vernon, PA, Cassidy (Sean) Deeves of Pocatello, ID, and great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, and great-nephews and great-nieces. The family would like to thank Riverside Care Center in McKeesport for all of their wonderful kindness and care. Friends will be received from 3:30 PM – 6:30 PM, Thursday, June 27 at the Christian Center Church 130 Charity Lane, Rostraver Township. A funeral service will begin at 6:30 PM, immediately following the visitation with Pastors Tim Burgan, Joe Burgan, and Mike Hough as officiants. Interment will be in Round Hill Cemetery.
