Anthony J. Ortolona Jr., 69, of Belle Vernon passed away Tuesday, March 23, 2010 in Mercy Hospital, Pittsburgh. A son of the late Anthony J. and Josephine Costantino Ortolona, he was born in N. Charleroi on July 17, 1940. Catholic by faith, he had been a lifelong resident of Belle Vernon and enjoyed playing cards with his friends. A graduate of the former Rostraver High School with the Class of 1958, he also attended the University of Pittsburgh. He had been a coach for the Washington Twp. Redskins of the Belle Vernon Midget Football League and the Rostraver Panthers of the Rostraver Midget Football League. Anthony was a craneman at the Monessen Plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Company and was an agent for American General Life Insurance Company. Survivors include his former wife, Rose Stewart, one daughter and son-in-law, Jacqueline and Joseph Burger of Belle Vernon, one son and daughter-in-law, Ronald and Christina Notaurangelo Ortolona of Newark, DE, three sisters and brothers-in-law, Mariann and James Posey, Lucille and Eugene Sams and Toni Jo and Monte Kunka, all of Belle Vernon, one brother and sister-in-law, Joseph and Caren Ortolona of Ft. Myers, FL, his mother-in-law, Leona Stewart of Belle Vernon, a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Janet and Richard Caputo of Brownsville, two grandchildren, Anthony Vincent Ortolona and Zachary Joseph Ortolona and many nieces and nephews including Michele Fleming of Belle Vernon. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Anthony J. 'Big Ort' Ortolona III on March 7, 2002 and his father-in-law, James Stewart.
