Carmine J. Santoro

Carmine J. Santoro, 60, formerly of Monessen, passed away Tuesday, February 14, 2012 at his home in Summerville, SC. A son of Beulah Demillion Santoro Carlson, who survives and resides in Monessen, and the late Carmine J. Santoro, Sr., he was born in Monessen on January 4, 1952. Formerly of Monessen, he had resided in Summerville, SC for the past several years, graduated in 1970 from Monessen High School and the Indiana University Police Academy. He was a former mason, a member of the Western Pennsylvania Walleye Association and the Palmetto Gun Club. Carmine had been a Pennsylvania Game Warden and Fish Commissioner, was the head of security at the federal building in Pittsburgh, a Firearm Instructor, worked for several years as a security guard at the former Charleroi Social Security Office, worked for the Kennywood Police Department, was the founder of the West Mifflin Ambulance Service and retired as a police officer from the Liberty Borough Police Department. Survivors, in addition to his mother, include his wife, Lynn M. Santoro, a son, Scott Carmine Santoro of West Mifflin, one brother and sister-in-law, David and Joanne Santoro, one niece, Julie Santoro, and two nephews, Josh and Zachary Santoro, all of Belle Vernon. He was a kind man with a big heart who loved his family and friends deeply. He touched so many with his kindness and generosity.
