Daniel J. Truskey, 62, of Coal Center, passed away on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 in Mon Valley Hospital due to complications of Covid-19. A son of Elmer and Patricia Barton Truskey who survive and reside in Long Branch, and his godmother, Elizabeth Pfrogner of California, PA, he was born in N. Charleroi on November 16, 1958. A resident of Coal Center for the past 29 years, Daniel had been employed as a detail manager at John Sisson Mercedes/Nissan in Washington. He was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Roman Catholic Church in California, Son of America Legion in Roscoe, Sons of Italy in Perryopolis, Belgium Club in Charleroi, Russian Club in Charleroi, French Club in Monessen, and the Daisytown Hungarian Club. Daniel was a former boy scout leader during his son’s younger years. He loved working on cars with his son, good times by the pool with his family, and traveling to Ocean City and the Outer Banks with Lisa. Daniel was an outdoorsman and history buff, he loved hunting, bonfires, and watching jeopardy. He had a black lab-golden retriever, Shelby, that he put down in February 2020 and now loved his delightful mix breed, George. In addition to his parents and godmother, he is survived by his wife of 29 years, Lisa Truskey; a son, D.J. Truskey of Coal Center; a daughter, Lauren Truskey and her boyfriend, Nick Longo, both of Philadelphia; and a sister, Colleen Haftman of Charleroi. There will be no public visitation at this time. There will be a Celebration of Life at a date and time to be announced.
