Glenn Lawrence Guseman, 83, of Jefferson Twp., went to be with the Lord on Friday, January 27, 2017 in Mon Valley Hospital. A son of the late George and Evelyn Federer Guseman, he was born in Grindstone on October 28, 1933. Glenn was a member of the First Christian Church of Fayette City, the Tri County Lodge 252 F. & A.M., the Belle Vernon American Legion, Post 659, Fairhope Rod and Gun Club, Belle Vernon Moose, Lodge 209, Naomi Club, Russian Club of Pricedale, Gillespie Slovak Club and the Santa Barbara Club of Newell. He had resided in the Fayette City area for most of his adult life. A U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, he served in Germany. Glenn was a brakeman for the B & O Railroad from 1954 – 1961, drove buses for TYrailways in Maryland from 1961 – 1969 and then worked for the former Fox Grocery Company, Wetterau and then Supervalu as a tractor trailer / jockey driver from 1971 until his retirement in 2000. An avid Steelers fan and pool player, he also enjoyed hunting and boating on the Monongahela River on the Golden Guse, waterskiing, bingo and camping. Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Marilyn Sholtis Guseman, four daughters and two sons-in-law, Patricia and Rob Ranneberger of Nottingham, MD, Barbara Major of Melbourne, FL, Yvonne Clark of Newell and Glenda and Justin Schaum of Fredericktown, four sisters and one brother-in-law, Jackie Clawson, Faye and Jon Cox, Rosalie Adams and Donna Senko, all of Belle Vernon, three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Robert Guseman of Andover, OH, Alden and Betty Guseman of Belle Vernon and George and Karen Guseman of Monongahela, ten grandchildren, Kelly (Matt), Michael, Jason (Katrina), Abby (Joey), Erin (Ray), Ryan, Releigh, Vera, Vicki and Valerie two great-grandchildren, Kaden and Caraline, and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Glenn L. Guseman, Jr. on August 2, 1981 and two sisters, Georgia Longwill and Joan Miller. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. Funeral services will be in the funeral home on Monday at 9:30 A.M. with Rev. Wayne Boring officiating. Interment, with military honors, will follow in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville. Services, on Sunday in the funeral home, will be held at 7 P.M. by the members of Tri-County Lodge 252 F.&A.M., at 7:30 P.M. by the members of the Belle Vernon American Legion, Post 659 and at 8:00 P.M. by the members of the Belle Vernon Moose.
