Jennie Annonio, 90, of Fairhope, went to be with the Lord on January 6, 2015. The daughter of the late William G. and Edna Brooks Axton, she was born in Belle Vernon on June 5, 1924. She was a lifelong resident of Belle Vernon and spent her final years making her home with her daughter Maggie. Jennie graduated from Marion School as well as Penn State Culinary School and worked as the head cook for the Belle Vernon Area Schools retiring in 1987 after 24 years. She was also a member of the Epiphany of Our Lord R.C. Church in Monessen. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Jack John Annonio; a daughter, Shirley Ann Shannon-Nangle; eight brothers, William, Paul, Wayne, Harry, Charles, Robert, Glen and Phillip Axton; a granddaughter, Tracy Nangle-Cragette and a grandson, Jason Whipkey. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, William T. Shannon and his wife Edith of Baltimore, MD; four daughters and sons-in-law, Dolores J. Ross and her husband Cal of Mt. Pleasant, Margaret Little and her husband Arthur of Star Junction, Jacqueline Whipkey and her husband Larry of Acme and Lorraine M. McCullough and her husband Andrew of Del Rio, TX.; fifteen grandchildren, David, Jack, Shawn, Dean and Randy Carlson, Pam McConnell, Michelle Gardner, Ricky and Chad Nangle, Jennifer Nangle-George, Arthur Little, Jr., Lisa Little, Brian Whipkey, Peter J. Carlson and Tabitha Weiland; three step-grandchildren, Leonard, Ernest and Hazel; and numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Friends will be received on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M. in the Ferguson Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 700 Broad Avenue, Belle Vernon. 724-929-5300 www.FergusonFuneralHomeAndCrematory.com.
