    Joanne Pagac Hastings

    September 25, 1940 - April 29, 2018

Joanne Pagac Hastings, 77, went to be with the lord after a courageous battle with Pancreatic Cancer, on Sunday, April 29, 2018 in her home with her husband and sister Jackie at her side. A resident of Pawleys Island, SC for the past 24 years, she was formerly of Columbia, MD. A daughter of the late Joseph Pagac and Dora Belle Jordan Mutich, and step-daughter of the late Michael ‘Mickey’ Mutich, she was born in Brownsville on September 25, 1940. After graduating from Centerville High School, Joanne was employed through retirement in 1994 with the United States Government. Joanne loved to travel and read novels. She could spend hours getting lost in the pages of a good book. She was also active in her community, enjoyed a game of Bridge, and loved her family with her whole heart. She is survived by her best friend and loving husband of 55 years, James Robert “Bob” Hastings; sons James (& William) Hastings of San Jose, CA and Brian (& Anissa) Hastings of Mount Airy, MD; grandson, Kyle Hastings; brother, Michael (& Darlene) Mutich of Fayette City; sisters, Joyce (& Jim) Gerace of York, Jackie Gazdik of Fairhope, Mickey Lynn (& Ed) Regula of El Paso, TX and Tina Mutich of Fairhope; as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Joanne was preceded in death by her grandmother, Rose M. Conaway Jordan, who also played an important role in her early life. A memorial service will be held at a later date and time to be announced in the Ferguson Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 700 Broad Avenue, Belle Vernon. www.FergusonFuneralHomeAndCrematory.com In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (https://www.pancan.org/)
