John W. Drotar, 88, of Fayette City, went to be with the Lord on Friday, March 13, 2015 in his home. A son of the late John and Julia Bella Drotar, he was born in Belle Vernon on August 28, 1926. A former member of the Marion Presbyterian Church, John was a member of the Tri-County Lodge F. & A.M. 252, the Uniontown Lodge of Perfection, Ancient Accepted Scottish Rites Valley of Uniontown, Pittsburgh Consistory, Pittsburgh Syria Mosque, the Shriners, the Belle Vernon American Legion, Post 659, the Star Junction Fish and Game Club, and was a life member of the Schellsburg V.F.W. and the Hungarian Club. A resident of Fayette City since 1964, he was formerly of Belle Vernon. A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, he retired in 1975 from the Allenport Plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Company, where he was a river hooker. Survivors include three sisters-in-law and one brother-in-law, Shirley Arnold of Smithfield, Joan Beatty of California, PA and Mary and James Neason of Coal Center, and several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great great nieces and great great nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Dorothy Anderson Drotar on June 17, 2014. Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. Monday with Rev. David Watts, Pastor of the California Church of the Nazarene officiating. Interment will follow in Olive Branch Cemetery. The members of the Tri-County Lodge 252, F.&A.M. will meet in the funeral home to hold services at 7:30 P.M. Sunday.
