John I. Miller, 94, of Lynnwood (Belle Vernon), went to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 24, 2011. A son of the late Otto F. and Mary Taylor Miller, he was born in Speers on January 19, 1917. John was a member and an honorary Deacon Emeritus of the Fayette City Christian Church, where he had formerly served as treasurer and deacon, and was a life member of the Monessen Elks. A resident of Lynnwood since 1953, he had formerly resided in Fayette City and retired in the mid 1970?s from the Monessen Plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Company, serving as the chief industrial engineer. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Mary Ellen ?Bunny? and Lee Michaels of Palmerton, two sons and daughters-in-law, Jack and Diana Miller of Fairhope and Tom and Corinne Miller of Manheim, eight grandchildren, Tina Tomlinson of Pocono Summit, Eric Michaels of Palmerton, Rachael Billman of Brazil, Scott Miller of Manhatten, NY, Lisa Pilarcik of Scenery Hill, Ryan Miller of Rostraver Twp., Sharon Garner of Manhein and Valerie Lutter of Landisville and 20 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth E. Manley Miller on December 11, 2009, one grandson, Kenneth Pickell, one great-granddaughter, Paige Miller, and three sisters, Margaret Ann Busch, Virginia Leyshock and Betty Burke. Friends will be received 7 to 9 P.M. Tuesday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M.
