Jonathan T. Evans, 36, of N. Belle Vernon, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 23, 2022 in Shadyside Hospital. A lifelong resident of Belle Vernon, he was born in Monongahela on September 17, 1985. He was raised in the Marion Presbyterian Church and was a member of the Boy Scouts attaining the Eagle Scout rank. Jonathan was co-owner of Chef G’s with his lifelong friend, Mike Rygiel. In 2014, he participated in the Poker Tournament at the Regatta in Atlantic City where he won the championship. Survivors include his mother, Debbie Marie Glotfelty (Randy) Matthias of Belle Vernon, his father, Duane (Margie) Evans of New Eagle, his companion, Hayley Canigiani of Fayette City and their three children, Colby Canigiani, Casey Ashbaugh, and Callie Ashbaugh, two sisters, Dawn (Josh) Evans of Belle Vernon and Megan Evans of N. Charleroi, who he grew up with, a half sister, Linda Evans of New Eagle, and a step-sister Laura (Chris) Imbrogno of Connellsville, one step brother Matthew (Alicia) Matthias of Moore, OK, serving in the US Air Force, and several nieces and nephews including, Cameron Evans, Chloe Evans, Noah Harrold, and Cayden Evans. There will be no visitation. A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.
