Kathryn J. (Halahan) Schock, 73, of Belle Vernon, passed away on Thursday, August 31, 2017 in her home. A daughter of the late John and Anne Kiselich Halahan, she was born in McKeesport on July 27, 1944. A member of St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church of Monessen, Kathryn had formerly resided in West Newton prior to 1992. She had been employed by the former Bell Atlantic Company in the billing department and worked at the former Volkswagen plant in New Stanton for 10 years until it's closing. Kathryn loved playing bingo and going to local casinos. Survivors include her husband of 31 years, Jim Schock, one daughter, Danielle Yerkey of North Charleroi, one granddaughter, Marley Yerkey, one brother, Charles Halahan of Sutersville, a niece, Kathy Lynn Nolan of Moseley, VA, two sisters-in-law; Pat Speers and Jo Ann Douglas, and her dear friend, Donah Byron. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a nephew, Eric Halahan. Friends will be received on Tuesday, September 5, 2017 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM in the Ferguson Funeral Home and Crematory Inc., 700 Broad Avenue, Belle Vernon. 724-929-5300 www.FergusonFuneralHomeAndCrematory.com Panachida will be in the funeral home on Wednesday at 9:15 AM followed by Divine Funeral Liturgy at 10 AM in Saint Mary's Byzantine Catholic Church, Monessen, with Father Steve Wahal officiating.
