    Lois P. Clay

    November 6, 1927 - May 27, 2018

    Lois P. Clay, 90, of Belle Vernon, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 27, 2018 in Mon Valley Hospital with her family by her side. A daughter of the late Lewis and Mildred Powell Pore, she was born on November 6, 1927. Lois was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church of Belle Vernon. At the end of World War 2, she was in the WAVES, the Women Accepted for Volunteer Service, a division of the U.S. Navy. Lois was a registered nurse, retiring in 1957 and had been active with the Perryopolis Senior Citizens and several other senior organizations. She was a loving and dedicated mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. A very talented lady, she enjoyed crafts and ceramics. Survivors include her husband, George (Rudy) Clay, with whom she would have celebrated 70 years of marriage on September 11, 2018, two daughters and sons-in-law; Sheran and Alan Summers of Perryopolis and Ruth and Scott Prentice of Virginia Beach, VA, three sons and daughters-in-law, Dana and Annette Clay of Belle Vernon, Derek and Sharon Clay of Lindale, TX and Brian and Terry Clay of Sanford, NC, one brother, Glenn Kay Pore of Belle Vernon, 15 grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Kenneth and Donald Pore. Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. Tuesday in the Ferguson Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 700 Broad Avenue, Belle Vernon. 724 929-5300 www.FergusonFuneralHomeAndCrematory.com Funeral services will be in the funeral home on Wednesday; viewing at 10:00 followed by a service at 10:30 A.M. with Pastor Tim Burgan officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The rosary will be prayed in the funeral home at 3 P.M. Tuesday led by members of St. Sebastian Parish.
