Linda Murt Skibo, 76, of Fayette City went to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 28 2026. A daughter of late Joseph Edward and Elizabeth (Bradish) Murt. She was born in North Charleroi on October 20 1949. A lifelong resident of Washington Township, Linda has resided in Fayette City for the past 55 years. She was a member of the Fayette City American Legion, the Naomi Club, and the Russian Club. Linda previously attended St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church and Fayette City Holy Spirit before becoming an active member of the Church of St. John the Baptist in Perryopolis, where she participated in working fish fry's, making perogies and soups. Linda was only 13 years old when she attended beauty school and has been a licensed beautician for over 60 years. She was the owner and operator of Skibo's Hair Salon for over 40 years until her retirement in February of this year. Linda met the love of her life Gary Skibo and was married in November 1970. Linda loved to cook and create new recipes in her kitchen. Anyone who would stop by the house would have a plate of food ready in minutes sitting in front of them with all the sides and appetizers ready to go. She would never show up anywhere without a covered dish or two or three in hand. Even in her final days you could not keep Linda out of the kitchen, doing what she loved. It was more than just food, it was love and compassion served on a plate. Linda knew how to have a good time and would be the first on the dance floor. She had an outgoing personality and would strike up a conversation with anyone, anywhere. Linda was the toughest most independent and strong willed person you probably ever met. If she set her mind to it, she would accomplish the mission and would not let anyone get in her way. Linda loved spending time boating and water skiing at Lake Erie, and the Mon River or any lake she could get to. She enjoyed numerous trips to the Outer Banks, Alaska, Mexico, Florida and the South West. Linda made a true impact on the world and the people in it, evident by the amount of friends and family that stopped to visit during her final months. She will be deeply missed and we will cherish all the countless memories she created for us. Linda is survived by her loving family, Son Chad (Casi) Skibo of Rostraver, and their daughters Sydney, Khloe and Rory. Son Jesse (Gina) Skibo of Perryopolis, his children Brody and Avery. Daughter Samantha (Tony) Cusimano of Greenfield, Wisconsin, her daughters Danielle and Sadie, and her grandchildren Blaze, Ellie, Lyanna, and Amias. Her four siblings, her guardian angel Pam Hill, Carol (Norman) Valo, Bill (Carrie) Murt and Joe (Dawn) Murt. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, "Gary" James Skibo on August 17, 2025. Friends will be received on Tuesday, June 30, 2026 from 4 P.M. to 8 P.M. in the Ferguson Funeral Home and Crematory, 700 Broad Avenue, Belle Vernon. 724-929-5300. www.FergusonFuneralHomeandCrematory.com. A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, July 1, 2026 at 11 A.M. in the Church of St. John the Baptist, 3332 Pittsburgh Street, Perryopolis, with Fr. Anthony Onoko as celebrant. Everyone is asked to meet directly at the church on Wednesday. Entombment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
