Ruedi Kennard Stocker, 67, of Enola, PA went home to be with his Lord and Savior. He passed away Sunday, October 31, 2010 in the Lehigh Valley Health Network, Cedar Crest & I-78, Allentown, PA. He was born in Huntington, NY on February 7, 1943. He was the son to the late Hansruedi and Winnifred Soper Stocker. Methodist by faith, he was a member of The Presbyterian Church in Catasauqua, PA. Ruedi most recently had attended the Emmanuel United Methodist Church in Enola. Since 2001 he had resided in Enola and previously in Northampton, PA and Buffalo, NY. He was a U.S. Army Captain during the Vietnam era and served in the Corp of Engineers from 1965-1967. Ruedi was also a member of the American Legion, Post No.0945. He had a B.S. in Business Economics and worked in the insurance industry for 40 years. He worked for Allstate Insurance Co as a Claim Supervisor from 1967-1972 in Washington, DC; Maryland Casualty Co. as a Sr. Claim Adjuster and then a Claim Supervisor from 1972-1978 in Washington, DC; Maryland Casualty Co. as a Claim Manager from 1978-1994 in Buffalo, NY; TIG Insurance Co. as a Unit Manger from 1994-1995 in Bethlehem, PA; Cambridge Integrated Services Group, Inc as a Unit Manager from 1995- 2001 in Bethlehem, PA and Gallagher Bassett Services, Inc. as a Senior Claims Representative from 2001 -2008 in Mechanicsburg, PA. He retired after 4o years in the insurance industry. Ruedi loved spending time with his friends and family. He was an avid fisherman, hunter and sports fan. He also enjoyed walking, reading, being in the woods and watching sunrises and sunsets with the love of his life, Jill. He was loved and adored by every life he touched. Survivors include his wife, Jill Sickles Pencil Stocker, three sons and two daughters-in-law, Ruedi and Ariel Stocker of Buffalo, NY, Eric Stocker of Cheekatowago, NY and Dane and Shannon Stocker of Collins, NY, one stepson, Robert M. Pencil of Macungie, PA, one brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Anne Stocker of Augusta, MA and one grandson, Kyle Stocker. Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 P.M. Friday in the Ferguson Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 700 Broad Avenue, Belle Vernon, www.FergusonFuneralHomeAndCrematory.com, 724-929-5300. Funeral services will be in the funeral home Saturday at 10 A.M. with Rev. David Zona officiating.
